About

Hello,

I'm Chloe--student, photographer, and videographer.

I grew up in Central Texas, but as someone who loves change, eighteen years in one state was long enough for me. After graduating from high school, I moved to Athens, GA where I am a student at the University of Georgia. I am a Marketing and International Business co-major pursuing the Digital Marketing Emphasis, in addition to a certificate in New Media. If you're wondering what "new media" is, it is essentially the study of emerging media, so your learning never ceases because technology is always changing. This website was actually initially created for a New Media Productions course in which we learned web development/coding. If you would like to know more about my educational and profesionnal work, head over to my resume.

I am also a photographer and videographer, and you will frequently find me with my 5D Mark III in hand and monopod in tow. I picked up a camera about seven years ago and did a few photography classes in early high school, and I never put my camera down after that. In high school I did portrait photography work primarily with high school seniors and families. Since coming to college, I have mainly done videography work for a local anti-human trafficking 501c3 non-profit called Breaking the Shackles, as well as nature and travel photography .

What I have been up to in recent years: In 2018, I spent most of the year living and traveling overseas. I began my journey in Northern Thailand doing volunteer work with GIVE volunteers. They are a smaller organization that focuses on building relationships with communities and working alongside them in order to achieve the communities' goals. While in Mueang Khong, I did agricultural work on the town's first permaculture plot and taught English at the local school. After Thailand and some travels in Bali, I moved to New Zealand to study at the University of Auckland for a semester. My time overseas was nothing short of incredible and has taught me so much about all of the diverse people and cultures in our world. I returned to UGA in Fall 2018; however at the beginning of 2019, I decided to take some time away from my education for personal/medical reasons. This time off has allowed me to pursue something that I've wanted to start for a while: launching a food blog! Cooking, nutrition, and plant-based eating are all things that I'm very passionate about, and you can find all things plant-ey at flourish & flora. Starting in 2020, I'll return to UGA once again, and I will officially graduate next Summer with a degree from the Terry College of Business!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about me; make yourself at home and stick around my website for a little while!

Yours truly,
